Another meeting, another crappy caricature.

Moths
Anxiety makes me feel like I’m full of moths. When you get excited for something, you get happy little butterflies, but the internal fluttering of anxiety is frantic and terrible. It’s in your stomach, making you sick. It’s in your throat, making it hard to breathe. It’s in your head, making it impossible to focus.
It’s exhausting.
// Available as a print.

Such fantastic art.

I needed Beast tokens for one of my decks, so I decided to summon this Beast from my childhood.

Okay, well, here’s another sample comic from the upcoming MY STUPID LIFE / SNAKEPIT split zine (coming out in March! Debuting at Staple in Austin! Get it get it!).
I wasn’t actually gonna post this one in advance until that comic I posted yesterday about dealing with depression and anxiety shit got so much positive feedback and it occurred to me this strip, simple though it may be, practically works as a direct follow-up.
(Oh, and, uh, please try and gloss over the somewhat embarrassing record I was listening to while I drew this one. No one’s perfect.)

*sigh* Yeah.

More on the history of this quote, and the Steve Jobs / Stewart Brand connection… via ailian:

I love this chain of anecdotes. They make my brain tingle. This is the story I didn’t get around to telling when I wrote about the Stewart Brand profile.

It starts with Steve Jobs’s Stanford commencement address where he talks admiringly of Stewart Brand and quotes that slogan…

I love caricatures and I’m trying to get better at them.

These kids are probably in their mid-20s by now (at least). I wanna see a re-enactment.

Wish granted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAIxQc6iHcg
I never get tired of these kids.

I’m about 5 years too late to the party, in spite of it being my favorite Pixar movie, but Wall-E was on TV last night and I really wanted to draw an androgynous Eve. Because robots.

I love this idea so much.
